Soft Sugar Cookies (fantastic!)
6 cups of sifted flour
1 tsp.soda
1 tsp.salt
1 cup butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla or almond
1 cup sour cream
Frosting
1 stick of butter,1 tsp almond or vanilla flavoring, some cream, add slowly so it doesn't get too runny, and about 3/4 bag or so of powered sugar.
Cream butter and sugar; add eggs, vanilla, and sour cream: blend well. Add dry ingredients and beat well. Refrigerate for about an hour and then roll out 1/4 inch thick on floured board. (its important to make it that thick) cut out shapes and bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes. When cookies are cooled, ice and decorate as you wish. Makes 4-5 dozen.
Frosting:
mix cream, powdered sugar, almond flavoring and butter to a nice smooth consistancy.
